Feline Tomfoolery
with Brady & Belichick
Dear Humans,
I am a beautiful and furry boy. Enough said.
Much Love, Belichick

Brady & Belichick are Rachel’s adorable felines. Brady is a short hair and very dominant and athletic, much like his namesake (Forever Patriots). Belichick, aka Beli, the long hair, was the runt of their litter and is much more passive, until provoked. These two cute boys turned one on May 4, 2024.
Story of the Week
Rachel is excited to have completed her tenth blood donation since she began donating in 2023. Has she gotten over her fear of needles by doing this, as planned? Maybe not completely, but she sure has made progress, and of that she can be proud. Enjoy this week’s main story to highlight her tenth donation.
Donate Blood, Save Lives- #10

Rachel’s 10th blood donation was completed recently at the mobile blood drive that was once again held close enough to home that she was able to walk rather than drive. Thank goodness, as her car was recently stolen. Yes, that is right, she was the victim of car theft. Never in her wildest dreams did she ever imagine her 12 year old, trusty little, low mileage, adorable Honda Civic would be stolen. Talk about a pain in the butt. She is holding out hope that the police will find it abandoned on the side of the road having just gone for a joy ride. Anyway, back to an O-Positive experience (pun intended).
Not in the best headspace on her donation day and feeling a bit mentally and physically depleted (because when it rains it pours, more on that another time), she wasn’t sure her blood pressure or pulse would even be low enough to donate. Luckily, they were or this would be one short story. Her iron level however, well, that was lower than ever at a 12.6. Had she been just .2 lower, her donation would have been cancelled. Leafy greens are back in the regular diet for sure.
She once again had a great experience at the donation. Mika was a nice young man that did her intake and got her draw started. Mika may have very well provided the greatest stick of all time, as she hardly even felt the needle enter her vein. Angela kept an eye on her and handled the removal and handling of the donation. She also posed for a picture with Rachel post-donation.
Rachel certainly didn’t get anywhere near her usual four minute donation time but isn’t being too rough on herself. A 6:35 minute donation is still respectable, and she plans to up her game at the next donation.
This blood drive, like the last, was sponsored by Wanna Cupcake. A free cupcake from Wanna Cupcake was just what she needed after a rough few days. Her next donation is already scheduled. Until next time, be well.
