Feline Tomfoolery
with Brady & Belichick

Dear Humans,
My human mom is excited to share this blurry picture. It is a screenshot from the Ring camera she had on while she slept. This one would have been much better for the Halloween issue, right?
Not only am I yawning but I am making a great shape with my body and tail. My primordial pouch is barely even showing. I am a natural model… what can I say?
Much Love, Brady

What? I get my own section down here. Yeah! It must be because she (the human) is sharing embarrassing pictures. Let me explain…
This first one is older, as in a couple of weeks ago when I still wasn’t doing very well. I had fallen off the human’s bed and got stuck, as I was too weak to get myself out. My balance was not that of a ‘normal’ cat. She didn’t even know I was down there until Brady drew her attention to it. Thank goodness he’s got my back.
Also, I would like to point out that in sharing this photo, she is sharing that she, a grown woman, sleeps with cat sheets. Wow, talk about a ‘crazy cat lady.’

This second picture is when I was feeling better more recently. You can tell by how clear of gunk my eyes are in this picture. What is that on my nose you ask? Cat liter. So what?
I still can’t clean my own face after eating so the human is cleaning me. I can’t help it if my nose hadn’t dried enough before I went to the liter pan. It’s her own fault for getting liter that smells so good. I just wanted to take a whiff.
The important takeaway here is that I am doing much better but enjoying the continuation of grossing out the human.
Much Love, Belichick
P.S. Hold on one minute! Did anyone else put together the fact that she took the opportunity to take a picture of me before she came to my rescue. Wow, human, really?

Brady & Belichick are Rachel’s adorable felines. These two cute boys turned two on May 4, 2025.
Mental Health Minute
Fun Times at OTF
Rachel is very happy to be back at Orangetheory Fitness (OTF). Every day is unique, and every day has its limits, but she is thrilled to be back.
This month kicked off with the ’12 Days of Fitness.’ Each day would be a different workout that were ranked in the top 12 by members. Rachel enjoyed each of the workouts she attended.
The photo below was taken after a class called ‘Capture the Flag.’ This is a partner workout in which the teams try to achieve as many meters as possible on the row machine. Most of the class attendees had already left for work leaving three for the photo along with Coach Sydni.

Why are they exhausted? In this class, partner A rows on the row machine while partner B does a weights circuit and a distance run on the treadmill before switching places with partner A. The cycle continues until time is called. Flags are given at 3,000 meters, 4,000 meters and 5,000 meters. Rachel and her partner, Mark, reached 5,623 meters.
Members that had signed up for the 12 Days of Fitness had to complete at least six of the twelve classes to receive the prize, a beanie. Rachel was excited to complete seven. After her sixth, she was awarded the prize, which fits great and is very cozy.
The decor on the wall behind Rachel has coaches and staff photos. Day six was Coach Sydni as a little girl. How cute. The 12 Days of Fitness has been a great way to start off the month of December.

Snowy Day Holiday Market
Snowy day may be over overstatement. A holiday market at Wheeler Historic Farm in Murray, Utah was on Rachel’s calendar for the last day of November. Snow flurries were in the forecast and did begin to fall just prior to her departing for the market. She was ecstatic for the snowfall. Now that she drives a Subaru, she doesn’t fear the wet roads so much.

Unfortunately, the snowfall was so light that it melted once it hit the ground, aside from a few areas, as seen in the above photo. It was more of a drizzly day at the market, but beautiful, nonetheless.
Only ten miles from Rachel’s home in Salt Lake City, Utah, Wheeler Historic Farm is a 75-acre working farm and public park. Aside from the seasonal events like this market, they have wagon rides, farmers markets, walking trails and more.

This holiday market had vendors outside providing warm drinks and treats, as well as in two different structures on the property. They also had their fair share of non-food vendors set up in the two structures. It was pretty much the usual sort of things you would find at a holiday market. All fun to ‘window shop’ for Rachel but nothing struck her fancy.
Something interesting to note, as she walked past vendors, at least 90% of them were looking down at their cell phones. How can you work a booth and expect to sell items if you have your nose buried in your phone? Very interesting. There was really only one booth that grabbed her attention. A self-published author.
When Rachel came across the booth pictured below, she stopped. Firstly, the author working the booth made direct eye contact and said, “Good morning.” There was no cell phone in her hands. How refreshing.

What came next was Rachel asking her question after question about her experience and process in publishing a novel. For those of you that know Rachel, you know she has always loved writing and has always wanted to publish a children’s book. Fear of the how has always held her back. Rachel also has two close friends that are currently writing novels. What can she say, she hangs with a cool crowd.
The author was too kind in answering all of her questions and even offering more information than Rachel thought to ask. It was the highlight of her day. Listening to the author talk about her experience with such enthusiasm was sure a great feeling.

As Rachel walked the property, she found the below art pieces outside of a barn. Each of them was fascinating in the own way with small details to be found with a closer look. She especially liked the water well and thought it would be such a great photo to have a small child sitting underneath. Only if she had a small child to utilize for this sort of photo fun. Oh well, next time she might just set up her camera and crawl underneath herself.

From driving in the snow to wandering a beautiful farm, Rachel would call this a pretty great day. She will be sure to watch for future farmers markets to check out and maybe even explore the trails. By the way, why hasn’t snow fallen since the last day of November? Isn’t Salt Lake City supposed to get snow? Hmm? Maybe she should be careful what she wishes for, as she does so love to explore on foot. It would be a shame if she could get out to pick up her favorite ice cream. Until next time, be well.
